Ilmenite(TiFe03)is smelted into high titanium slag(Ti02)by 6300KVA electric furnace,and then in the chlorination furnace,coke is added,and chlorine gas is passed to generate crude titanium tetrachloride(TICl4).After tower tray separation,copper wire is used to remove vanadium and become refined titanium tetrachloride,and then it enters the reduction distillation combined furnace,where magnesium is added to reduce the original,and sponge titanium and magnesium chloride are generated.Magnesium chloride is generated by electrolysis and recycled with chlorine gas,and the generated sponge titanium is broken and packaged for delivery.

1.Particle size

The particle size of sponge titanium is determined by crushing and screening,and is supplied with two particle sizes:0.83mm~25.4mm 90%MIN and 0.83mm~12.7mm 90%MIN.

2.Appearance

The product should be a light gray sponge shaped metal with a clean surface and no visible inclusions.The number of defective sponge titanium blocks in products(excluding Level 5 products)shall not exceed 0.1%of the total batch of products.Defective sponge titanium blocks refer to:burnt sponge titanium blocks;Oxidized sponge titanium blocks with obvious dark yellow and bright yellow;Oxidized and nitrogen rich sponge titanium blocks with dark yellow and bright yellow traces;Sponge titanium blocks with obvious chloride residues;Sponge titanium block with residue;Sponge titanium blocks of high iron and its accompanying elements.

3.Packaging

The products are packaged in drums with a net weight of 75kg~250kg per unit.The packaging drums are galvanized iron drums,lined with plastic film,and sealed with a large diameter lid.After the product is packaged,the barrel must be emptied and filled with argon.
